Description: County-wide 10 foot contours using NAVD 88 vertical control. 10' contours were generated from Digital Terrain Model (DTM) data stereo digitized from aerial photography. Source DTM was prepared in multiple project phases and from varying scales of aerial photography attained between 1998 and 2003. DTM accuracies ranged from 2' contour accuracies within the Cities of Medford and Ashland to 10' contour accuracies for rural/foreseted areas. Source DTM and generated contours were compiled to meet ASPRS Class I and National Map Accuracy standards. Higher accuracy spot elevation points for publication were not included in the project. Contours in obscured areas are only an estimate of approximate ground as interpreted from the aerial photography and may not meet map accuracy standards. Vegetation polygons were not included in the project and obscured area contours of lesser accuracy are not delineated or attributed separately. Obscured areas should be considered to be all areas of dense vegetation or heavy shadow. Snowzone attribute was added on 2/28/2008 here is what the data editor has to say: By identifying on the contour line, it will display the elevation and the snowload for that elevation. Since the data for snowload calcs only goes up to 6600', all contours above that elevation will have a snowload value of 0. That does not mean there is no snowload - it just means they'll need to work more closely with the building division and probably an engineer to determine the load requirements.
