This dataset represents the Zip code boundaries within Jackson County. Data was created in the Summer of 2008 by grouping site address points by zip code, then hand digitizing boundaries to snap to taxlots around those points. In those areas where two zip codes were intermixed, and a definitive boundary could not be acquired, a boundary was created and given the PO_Name and ZIP of both regions. Multiple attempts were made to acquire the official postal zip codes from the US Postal Service, but they were unresponsive to requests by County GIS staff. |
